PIZZA IS GOD - Feb 7-8, 2007
Tuesday 2/7 - Well today what our goal was to work on the arm that was not scoring. We were going to use an arm that would help open the ramp. We wanted this arm to put the ramp down from its orginal position, and having the ramp flip open be another step. First we had Maya, and Summer look up what the torque was on each of the motors. We needed at least 20NM in order to open the ramps. We came to the conclusion that Fisher Price motor was good enough to do the job. While Summer and Maya were looking up the specs on the motors, Kyle and I brain stormed of way how to mount the motors onto the chassis, or a way to get the motor to work with the arm. Kyle had an idea about having a rotating shaft. While i had an idea that included a worm gear and a sprocket. We soon just decided to attach two aluminium bars across the chassis. Then we were going to figure out what to do tomorrow.
Weds. 2/8 - We walked in with a huge list to do. Am not sure if we got it done. One thing that i wanted was PIZZA. So a couple of the students and I put in some money to get pizza for those that were staying later. While that was going on, were had to figure out how to attach the fisher price motors onto the 2 bars. We haven't yet to figure that out, but will very soon. Then I started to file the arm joint. So that when it went together it was smooth. Scott number B also explained to me how he was able to create this arm joint out of aluminium. Then after that he gave me the task of trying to screw on the motor onto the scoring arm. Since the holes for the motors were off, I had to file the holes longer. So that the motor could be mounted on. THE END.
